Partners with Social Security and Bureau of Prisons.
The Department of Veterans Affairs announced last week the expansion of outreach to help formerly incarcerated veterans reintegrate into society. They will be partnering with the Social Security Administration and the Bureau of Prisons to increase the speed of information exchanged between the agencies. They will also be improving the Veterans Reentry Search Service to help the agencies find the information they need faster.
“Justice-involved Veterans deserve an opportunity to fully reintegrate into society,” said VA Secretary Denis McDonough. “During Second Chance Month, VA is taking action to enable Veterans committed to rejoining society, post-incarceration, by expanding the use of a web-based tool to identify and connect them to needed VA care, while also restoring VA benefits faster.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary McDonough as he seeks to help veterans who have been released from prison reintegrate into society.
- For Director Carvajal as his bureau partners with the VA on this program.
- For Acting Commissioner Kijakazi as she oversees the Social Security Administration.
- For veterans who have had trouble with the law and paid their debt to society.
